LGBTQIA+ people and their lives and stories is one of many underrepresented histories in Glendale.  As library collections continue to digitize their databases, some smatterings emerge, mostly in the form of advertising for small businesses. There was Books Bohemian with “Books for Gay People,” and the Women’s Music Distribution Company on Verdugo. It is by perusing the online digital content offered by One Institute,  “the largest repository of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ) materials in the world,” that we meet Matthew and Buddy of Glendale, the only reference to Glendale it contains. This is cobbled from their archive, available online information, and ancestry.com.
